Based in San Francisco, Interwoven brings people together to celebrate and navigate the nuances of living mixed and multicultural lives.

While “mixed” means and looks like different things for everyone, our community comes together through the common experience of straddling many worlds in our identities and relationships. Interwoven serves as a cultural home for people who don't quite fit elsewhere, with a full embrace of everything that makes us who we are.Through events and gatherings for our members, we build community amongst humans who are mixed race and/or culturally mixed (diaspora, third culture kids, people raised in multiple cultures).

About Us

Our Values
Belonging & Welcoming: We embrace the fullness of people’s unique stories and identities, and create spaces where they feel welcomed and a part of the whole.

Curiosity & Listening: We practice active listening and express genuine curiosity towards others. We’re mindful of the space we occupy and make sure everyone feels heard, understood, and valued.

Relationality & Reciprocity: We value the act of both offering and receiving, and nurturing connection through shared experiences.

Purposeful & Intentional: We are present and grounded in how we treat each other, holding ourselves to a high standard in our decisions. We stay true to our core purpose for coming together.

Meet Michaela & Parsa
We are mixed people in a mixed marriage on a mission to bring together a community of other mixed people (say that three times fast!)
Living multicultural lives as individuals and as a couple is a big part of our identities, and we're so excited to be building the community we always hoped to find.Together, we represent 3 languages and 4 distinct cultures, and a love for sharing them with others. Beyond Interwoven, you can catch us attending and hosting other events around the Bay Area, turning strangers into friends, and geeking out about ways to gather people creatively.

Apply to be a member!
Interwoven is a member-only community for mixed race and mixed culture people. We're focused on cultivating a community of mixed people who embody values of relationality, curiosity, and co-creation in the spirit of shared identity. We occasionally host events open to the public, but primarily spend our time in deep community with our members.

What does mixed race / mixed culture mean?
"Mixed race" refers to individuals of multiracial descent. "Mixed culture" can mean a lot of things, but we're focused on people who identify with words like diaspora, third culture kid, and other terms referring to a multicultural upbringing. The common thread is a feeling of mixedness inherent to one's identity and lack of cohesive belonging to any one community.
What does being a member mean?
Being an Interwoven member means being an active part of our community. It means showing up as your fullest self, and being embraced by a crew of mixed people who get you. It means co-creating with us and taking part in a relational space made just for people living in between racial and cultural lines.
You'll be invited to our member-only events, digital community space (Heylo), and build relationships with fellow mixed humans through things like multicultural potlucks, book clubs, happy hours, and more. How do I become a member?
